Neigel has been in the field of substance abuse prevention for more than a decade, helping to implement prevention coalitions across Snohomish County. He works as the Prevention Services Coordinator for the Monroe School District, where he coordinates the Monroe Community Coalition and supports schools to ensure students are ready to learn and able to reach their full potential.
Neigel is recognized across the state of Washington as an expert speaker on the topics of substance abuse prevention and trauma, particularly with regard to the study of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). His community guide, “Prevention Tools: What Works, What Doesn’t,” is printed and distributed to coalitions and communities statewide by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.
Most important to him, Councilmember Neigel is blessed to be a daddy to five thoughtful, hilarious and creative children aged five through 18.
