Utility Rate Increases
The City recently contracted with Katy Isaksen & Associates to perform rate studies on water, sewer and storm water utilities. Rate studies are performed to assess and determine if the current / projected revenue will be sufficient to cover maintenance, operating and improvement expenses for that specific utility. The results of the study indicated that in order to sufficiently fund these utilities going forward, it would be necessary to adopt new rate schedules for all three utilities. Effective December 1, 2017, and reflected on your January, 2018 billing statement, the rates will increase as follows:
Residential water rate decreases from $40.62 to $39.01 per month. Residential water allowance decreases from 600 CF to 300 CF per month. Every 100 CF over the allotted 300 CF will be billed at $4.05.
Multi-family and mobile home park water rate increases from $35.46 to $39.01 per month. The monthly water allowance remains the same at 300 CF. Every 100 CF over the allotted 300 CF will be billed at $4.05.
Commercial water rate increases from $43.84 to $48.22 per month for a 3/4” meter and increases according to meter size. Commercial water allowance remains the same at 600 CF per month. Every 100 CF over the allotted 600 CF will be billed at $4.05.
Residential, multi-family and mobile home park sewer rate will increase from $74.47 to $77.45 per month.
Commercial sewer rate begins at $77.45 per month and increases according to meter size. The monthly allowance remains at 600 CF. Every 100 CF over the allotted 600 CF will be billed at $3.28.
All classes will see a storm water rate increase of $0.30 per ERU. (1 ERU = 4,510 square feet)
All classes will see a scheduled rate increase of 2 percent. This increase will be reflected on your February, 2018 billing statement.
