Do you have ideas on how to improve Sultan aesthetics in order to encourage and promote new business? Do you have thoughts about what it will take to draw more U.S. 2 travelers into our downtown core? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, and you’re looking for a way to give back, the Sultan Business and Tourism Group might be a good fit for you!
The Sultan Business and Tourism Group is volunteer-driven group dedicated to promoting the city of Sultan’s downtown core as not only an intriguing place to stop and shop, but a viable place to open a business. The group’s next meeting takes place 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at Sultan City Hall, and all are welcome to attend.
The group sees empty storefronts as opportunities rather than liabilities, and is working to convey the message that Sultan is open for business. It is dedicated to tourism promotion through the implementation of aesthetic enhancements that make guests, residents and business owners feel safe and welcome. With the city’s close proximity to the Skykomish and Sultan rivers and local hiking trails, Sultan offers a unique and vibrant landscape to its residents and visitors.
One of the group’s goals is to partner with existing business owners in beautification efforts meant to improve the overall look of the City. The Sultan Business and Tourism Group supports Project Main Street, an all-volunteer city cleanup event held every summer that invites community members to participate and take ownership in their city.
Anyone with a passion for community development is welcome to join the group’s efforts. The meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at Sultan City Hall. For more information about the Sultan Business and Tourism Group, please click here.
