It is the quintessential small town holiday event, complete with Christmas carols, hot chocolate, coffee, sweet treats and photos with Santa Claus – who is escorted to the event on a fire truck.
The Sultan Tree Lighting celebration takes place Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at the Main Street Gazebo in Sultan’s River Park. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with Santa Claus arriving at 6 p.m. sharp. Festivities include karaoke featuring popular Christmas carols, photos with Santa, free refreshments, fire pits and the traditional lighting of the tree, which rests on top of the gazebo. The tree lighting event is free, family-friendly and guaranteed to infuse the community with a healthy dose of holiday cheer.
The Sultan Tree Lighting event is coordinated by community volunteer and former Sultan City Councilmember Ken Marshall and his wife RaeAnna, and Logger’s Inn owner Leo Moreno. The celebration is supported by the Sultan Community Alliance and Snohomish County Fire District 5.
