Sultan’s Business and Tourism Group is volunteer-driven group dedicated to promoting the City of Sultan’s downtown core as not only a vibrant place to stop and shop, but a viable place to open a business.
The group sees empty storefronts as opportunities rather than liabilities, and is working to convey the message that Sultan is open for business. It is dedicated to tourism promotion through the implementation of aesthetic enhancements that make guests, residents and business owners feel safe and welcome.
One of the group’s goals is to partner with existing business owners in beautification efforts meant to improve the overall look of the City. The Sultan Business and Tourism Group supports Project Main Street, an annual all-volunteer city cleanup event that invites community members to participate and take ownership in their city.
The Sultan Business and Tourism Group wants to draw guests in from U.S. 2 with a Main Street that bustles and charms. Approximately 18,000 vehicles use the U.S. 2 corridor every day, including residents, tourists, transit and truck traffic. The group seeks to entice visitors by embracing Sultan’s rich heritage while capitalizing on its assets including its lush network of City parks and its close proximity to the Sultan and Skykomish rivers.
Anyone with a passion for community development is welcome to join the group’s efforts, which are supported through meetings held on the second Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at Sultan City Hall.
