Mountainside Storage is located at 33329 SR 2 and owned by Kay Meyers.

Born and raised in Seattle, Kay has been working with rentals since 1971. She bought the storage business in 2005 after a foreclosure and began working with Elke and Michael Moynihan with Coast Real Estate Services. They began making major upgrades to the office, storage units and the property. The upgrades included new carpet, paint, technology and better security on the property. Kay had a hunch to stay with Coast Real Estate Services and is very happy she did. All five of her employees work for Coast Real Estate Services.

Lexie and Anthony Manzanares joined the “A Team” as Kay so fondly refers to her employees who are like family and they all worked together managing the business for 10 years. Amber Hazel was the latest addition, coming on board in 2015.

There are 225 drive-up accessible, enclosed storage units and 12 – 18 outdoor parking spots for big rigs and RVs. They are proud to be members of the Washington State Self Storage Association where they learned about the business. Elke and Lexie have received their certification for Self-Storage Managers and Kay is extremely proud of them.

Besides having two people certified, Mountainside Storage took second in Western Washington in 2015 and first place in 2016 for the Seattle “A-List”. Kay gives her employees all the credit for the success of the business.

Lexie received second place for Coast Community Manager of the year in 2016. Now Coast Real Estate Services manages storage units all over the northwest.

In 2009 they had plans to expand, but the recession delayed the plans until recently and they are looking forward to picking up where they left off eight years ago. They are now in the process of working with the City on their expansion.

Kay believes it’s important to be part of the community and is planning an open house in the near future.

Mountainside Storage also has a great customer appreciation and incentive program.  Every customer who refers another will get a “big” discount.  Periodically, they have a raffle for their customers.  They give rent credits, gift cards, etc. and are very conscientious about supporting local business, buying local whenever they can.
