[ARCHIVED] Representative Volunteers Needed!

download

As part of Sultan’s Housing Action Plan (HAP), the city is looking for 9-12 volunteer representatives for its community stakeholder group. To complete the Housing Needs Assessment (HNA), this group will assist the city in furthering our understanding of the following questions:
1. Who lives and works here and what are their socioeconomic characteristics?
2. What types of housing are available?
3. Are there any groups who are not able to find housing that is safe, affordable, and meets their household needs?
4. How much housing, and what types of housing, are needed to meet current and future housing needs?
5. Is there sufficient buildable land capacity to accommodate this growth and housing diversity?
It’s difficult to know exactly how many households are looking for housing, or what kinds of housing they may find suitable. This HNA will help to answer questions like these. Currently, the city’s HNA analysis relies on available sociodemographic and housing data from multiple sources. However, a strong housing action plan is built on feedback from community members and stakeholders, so that their interests and local knowledge are reflected throughout the document. Moreover, much of the available data is not recent enough to reflect any trends that may have been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which likely intensified any housing affordability issues.
Reach out to Andy Galuska (andy.galuska@ci.sultan.wa.us) to apply to be a volunteer representative of the community stakeholder group.
The City of Sultan is committed to effective and inclusive community engagement
