Public comments are welcome at all City Council meetings. Meetings begin with a public comment period where citizens can speak on any City-related topic. Citizens may also comment on specific agenda items during the meeting. Your comments should generally be limited to 3 minutes in length.
Remote Virtual Comments
Starting in January 2024 all community members who wish to participate in virtual public comment during City meetings are required to register on the City website beforehand. This new registration process is designed to streamline and enhance the virtual public comment experience for everyone involved.
To comment virtually, please click here to register. All virtual comment registrations must be received by 4:00 PM on the day of the meeting.
If you would like to submit written comments to be included at the meeting, you must email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Written comments must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. the day of the meeting.
Public hearings offer particular opportunities for citizens to comment on important issues such as new ordinances, City budget, comprehensive plan amendments or adoption, and interlocal agreements.
Agendas & Minutes
City Council agendas are available online the Friday afternoon prior to the meeting and at the meeting itself. Minutes of the meeting are recorded and reviewed at the following Council meeting. Once approved, the minutes are available for the public. Minutes and approved ordinances can be found in the Council meeting packets.
