Community Development Department

We continually update our applications and handouts to reflect recent changes in the Sultan Municipal Zoning Code.  As forms are updated, they will be posted online in the MyGov Permit Portal found here:  MyGov Permitting. If you do not see the type of application, you are looking for, please contact the Community Development Department at 360-793-1099 or 360.793.1125. The city strives to keep the most current forms online; but please always contact the Community Development Department to ensure you have the most recent version. 

How to apply for a Land Use Permit using the MyGov Permit Portal

You will need to create an account (Collaborator) and sign in (if you have not already).  


    • Once you do that, you will want to select the green button to the far right that says: GET STARTED.
    • Click the green button on the far left:  MAKE NEW REQUEST
    • Click on the blue button - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
    • This opens up the available applications
    • Scroll down to the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT PERMITS and click on: THE LAND USE PERMIT TYPE YOU NEED
    • Follow steps to upload plans and supporting documentation.
    • No fees are due until we process the application.

Please note that the City has updated certain elements of the Comprehensive Plan to reflect changes in population projections.
