Planning Board Vacancy
Dear Citizens:
As a valued community member and/or local business owner, I would like to invite you to apply for one of two positions on the City of Sultan Planning Board: either a short term position ending on June 30, 2012 and available for reappointment to a full two-year term; or a long term position ending on June 30, 2013 also available for reappointment to a full two-year term.

Invitation Letter
The application deadline is 4:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2012. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please submit your application to the Sultan City Clerk’s Office, City of Sultan, PO BOX 1199, Sultan or in-person at City Hall (319 Main Street, Suite 200). If we receive applications from at least two community members, we plan to interview prospective candidates and make a recommendation to confirm my appointment at the City Council’s February 9, 2012 meeting. If confirmed by the City Council, the appointment would be effective immediately.

Planning Board
The Planning Board is a five-member volunteer advisory board tasked with:
- Review and make recommendations to the City Council on land use policies.
- Prepare/update the City's Comprehensive Plan
- Reviews staff proposals
- Holds public hearings, including the Capital Improvement Plan and Annual Docket
- Review sub area and master plans, forwarding them to the City Council for consideration

Members are appointed by the Mayor to serve two-year terms.

Regular Meeting Schedule
1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month (unless otherwise noticed)
City Hall, Council Chambers
7:00 p.m.
Meetings that fall on holidays are rescheduled to the next working day or may be cancelled.
Special meetings, such as a Board Retreat, may be held as determined by the Board.

Cancellation notices are issued up to 24 hours prior to the actual meeting date and posted at City Hall and Post Office and, as a courtesy, posted on this web site.
Special Accommodations
Any person needing special assistance or any reasonable accommodation to attend the meeting is asked to contact the City Clerk at 360-793-2231 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.

If you or your organization would like to address the Commission on a particular issue that is not part of the Agenda or if you would like to request that the Commission honor a person, please contact the Robert Martin at 360-793-2231.
